Life is just one big waiting room...

... a quote my grandmother continually says, every time we're stuck waiting for something. But there is an element of truth in it. We're always waiting for the next adventure, the next hurdle, the next mistake, the next happiness.

Or in my case, you could just be waiting for your turn in the shower. Haha.

When are we going to actually enjoy the present? We want to get through school because we're sick of being told what to do by teachers and parents. Once we're on our own, we want to get a better job, we wait for a big promotion. We wait for our hearts to be broken, just to wait for "The One" to come along. We count down to Christmasses, birthdays (although, probably a lot less once you've past the age of 25), holidays, reunions.

Then once we've got our dream house, the kids have moved out, we've retired on a nice sum of money,  take a look in the mirror and suddenly your face is nothing but papery wrinkles and you think "Where has my life gone?"

That is the time when the only thing left waiting for is the inevitable knock of Death on the door.
